It was the turn of the Owls, on Friday 27th January, to share their work to parents and other children in the school. They read stories about Rama and Sita, talked about the dodgeball competition, received certificates and also shared their science work based on electricity.
Monday 23rd January saw 5 Owls compete in a dodgeball competition at Inspire Suffolk. They played several games against other schools and won some, drew some and lost some. All the children displayed great skill and determination as well as good team spirit – they even managed some games of table football in between matches!
On Friday 27th January 2017, 6 Owls took part in a Ten Pin Bowling Festival. They joined other schools at the event which was held at Martlesham. They played 2 games; their scores were added up to make a ‘team total’; our children came 5th out of 11 schools. Thank you to Mrs Clark and […]

On Thursday, Mrs Marshall and Mrs Bilner (and several parents) accompanied 17 children to the O2 in London. On Wednesday 18th January the JRSO’s and Denise the Community Police Officer observed the parking outside the school gates at the end of the school day. On Wednesday evening a group of Swans started a Vex club. Over the next few weeks, they will build a Vex ‘model’ which can then be programmed to perform different tasks. We hope in the future to compete with other schools in a Vex robot competition. We will keep you updated on the progress.
Children from the Woodpeckers Class joined Miss Jones and Mrs Kite for Book Club. The children enjoyed listening to the story Room On The Broom by Julia Donaldson before doing activities based on the book. On Friday, we had a PE Enrichment day. Mr Ross came in and taught the children different skills, games, tactics and rules of American Football. Due to the snowy weather, this had to take place in the school hall, however, lots of learning happened and a lot of fun was had by all!
Thursday afternoon saw the school visit the New Wolsey theatre to watch Sinbad the Sailor Rock n Roll Panto. The children and accompanying adults, listened to the songs and talented musicians and laughed at the jokes. Everyone was very well behaved and we all had a great time.
The children in Kingfishers Class participated in their first Forest Schools session. They followed instructions and walked with their partners to the forests, watching where they were going and crossing the road carefully.
